Technically it's not her first day, she went for 1 1/2 hours last Tues, but I got to stay, so today was the real test...she did good! I'm so proud of her :-) We had crocodile tears this morning, so I figured we'd have "round 2" when she actually got there, but...nope! She did look very sad, but she walked right in with another little girl who looked sad. She did turn back to look to see if I was still there, but then the teachers got them very busy right away. I did stay for a few minutes and peeked in every once in a while, but she seemed to be okay? I just hope there were no tears when/if she looked back out to see if I was still there. This morning I drew a heart on her hand and on mine and kissed her hand. I told her if she got lonely to look at her hand and remember that Mommy kissed it (hoping it would put her more at ease). She seemed to like the idea? I told her that when she got to school she'd have to wash her hands (new school rule) and it would probably wash off, but that it was okay because I had kissed her and kisses don't wash off! So she was okay when she washed her hands, and yes the heart did basically wash off! I'm so glad that this morning went better than I had expected it too...makes it much easier all around! I was fine, but the director handed all the moms a bag with Hershey's kisses & hugs, a tissue and a little poem that said, "Extra hugs and kisses and a tissue for your tear...Thank you for sharing your child with us! We're looking forward to a wonderful year". When she handed it to me and I saw "words" I knew better than to read it until I got in my car...haha! I did read it and of course had a few water works, but I did better than I thought I would too!!! So, this has been an extremely bittersweet morning for me...I'm very excited for her to have new life experiences, but am sad and shocked for myself that these past 3 years have gone by so quickly! Well, hopefully the morning goes smoothly...I can't wait to go back to pick her up!

Of course Luke was all smiles...as usual!
Aww drawing hearts was a cute idea. You're such a good mommy, Andrea!
