Ready to go to her first day of school!
Okay, now that I've brought you up to speed, I am going to try to focus on updating this as much as I can. Lilly started her first day of preschool today! Today was "Moms & Dad's" day. It was a shortened day...we were there until about 10:00. It was just kind of a nice relaxing day (for parents and kids) so we could all see how their daily routine will go. Lilly didn't hesitate too much. She joined right in with all of the other kids. The school that she goes to is amazing and really make learning fun for the kids! I really think she'll love it there! What's not to love about having a few hours of playing with your friends, eating snacks, singing songs, making crafts, playing games, etc (all while learning too)! I'm so thankful it all went so well. It's a far cry from last night, with huge tears running down her rosey little cheeks, when she told me "Mommy, I'm just a little thing, I can't go to school, I'll miss you too much". Talk about heartbreaking...I definately fought back the tears on that one! The true test will be next week, when I have to take her to the teacher, and leave :-( This is a whole new chapter for me (us) and I'm finding it bittersweet! I feel extremely blessed to have such a beautiful, intelligent, fun-loving, full of life sweet little girl, and am glad that she is happy and healthy, but I am a little sad (for myself) that she's growing so quickly! Where have these last 3 years gone? I always took it for granted when she was first born and people told me "enjoy it, it goes by so fast"! They were NOT kidding...I don't take that for granted anymore. I always cherish EVERY moment I have with both of my babies! I will post again next week after the first "real" day of school!
