NIGHT OUT

Steve and I went to dinner with 2 other couples, friends of ours on Saturday night.  I love love love that we are making so many friends that have kids our kids' ages.  We celebrated my birthday (which is this Friday) with some good Mexican food and yummy margaritas!  My hubby is always a DD, so that is delightful for me ;)  We were planning on furthering our night out to a local bar for some more drinks, but as usual something always happens (I have no luck)!  Some of you who are familiar with the area...we had a terrible storm that night.  There was actually a tornado that touched down and did some awful damage a couple towns over from us.  We had no clue that there were even tornado sirens going off until one of the other moms got a text message that their baby sitter had the kids in the basement.  Gee...that place must be very well insulated  because we were all sitting there w/out a clue that it was even raining, let alone there were tornado warnings and sirens blaring!  And no, it wasn't the alcohol because we all only had 1 drink!  We all bolted to check on our kids and of course it had to be the worst rain storm I've ever been in!  I really figured that me and my 4" inch heels would be kissing the slippery pavement as I ran to the car, but I got lucky (for once).  The kids were fine, they didn't even wake up through the storm, and by the time we got to check on them the sirens had stopped, so we met some family and friends out for another drink, even though I looked like I had been half drowned, oh well!  It was a great time anyway!  My wonderful hubby was such a sport...he had to work at 6:00 Sunday morning, but he was a trooper and let me have a couple hours to unwind a little and have some fun, sans kids!  It was much needed and I am glad that we get the chance to spend that time together!

some of my greatest friends :-)
