Some of you may already know this, but I guess this is a little for the ones who don't (and an update for everyone). Luke was terribly sick the weekend of Halloween. It started as a cold early that week, then just progressivly got worse. I took him the the E.R. Wednesday night and he was diagnosed with Croup. They gave him a breathing treatment, along with an oral steroid and sent him home. Thursday he was maybe a touch better, but by Halloween night, he was having horrible coughing spells that would make him gag and make it difficult for him to breath. Obviously, we couldn't let that go on, so I took him to the E.R. at about 11:30 that night. The Dr. said it was probably the worst case of croup that he had ever seen/heard. Being that he had already been in once, they gave him a steroid injection and another breathing treatment and watched him for a couple of hours. He kept having bad spells, so they decided to admit him...thinking we'd go home sometime Sunday afternoon...NOT the case! He took quite a while to show improvement, so they tested him for Whooping Cough. That's the reason why I've waited so long to write this (to get the results of that). I got them yesterday afternoon and he does NOT have it, so the Dr. said it definately was just croup...just a horrible case! We had to continue breathing treatments here at home for a few days, but he is much better now! Needless to say, his birthday wasn't too pleasant (last Friday) and we had to cancel his party that was planned for Sunday. We are working on re-planning that again now! Everyone has been wondering how he's doing, so we just wanted to update you all, to let you know he's good now. He still coughs once in a while, but I'd say in another day or 2 he should be back to 100%. Thank you all to prayed for him...we know that helped!
Sleeping next to the oxygen mask;
that he would have NO part in wearing!
Napping with Daddy...he slept so much!
Occupied with books
Ready to break out of the 'baby jail'!
Feeling much better, ready to go home!

AW! Poor guy. I'm glad he is feeling better.
