SICK OF BEING SICK
Sorry, but this post has no pictures :( Just a quick post to let those who want to know that poor Luke has been sick. It started out as a runny nose on Tues, a little cough developed on Wednesday and by Thursday he had a fever. It started out in the morning as a low grade and through the day grew higher. He was so miserable, he sat on my lap literally ALL day. I had to shower when he napped, in which he only napped about 20 minutes because I think he realized I put him in his bed? By yesterday (Fri.) the fever was at 103 in the morning. He still had no symptoms of anything major (ears, throat etc) so I watched him closely. He grew pretty lethargic and again sat on my lap ALL day! This time he wasn't interested in watching TV, he basically sat and stared at me, and off into "space". I felt so bad for him. He didn't eat 1 bite of anything for 2 days. Anyway, he finally drifted off to sleep on me at about lunch time...my plan was to lay him down after he was good and sleeping. Well, he wouldn't hear of me putting him down and he is NEVER like that. He always prefers his bed. So Mommy enjoyed the bittersweet cuddles. I felt terrible that he was so miserable and I couldn't help him, but I must admit that I didn't mind all of the snuggles and cuddles he gave me. They are so hard at this age because they can't really tell you what's wrong. When he awoke from his nap, his fever was 104.4, so I immediately called the Dr. Lilly always had high fevers, but, as lethargic as he was, I just wanted to make sure nothing else was wrong. When I called, they squeezed him in immediately. So after 3 different rounds of x-rays, LOTS of blood taken, and waiting around for 3 hours)...they found nothing. The Dr. said it is just a bad viral infection! We are VERY thankful for that. I kind of figured that was what it was because he had no symptoms and wasn't complaining about anything, but I just had to be sure. Today his fever is in the 102s and 103s so far, but he does have a little perk in his eyes. He did eat a few bites of oatmeal and some of a banana for breakfast, so that's good. He's even ventured off of my lap a little to get some books and play with his big sister. He is very crabby though. It's been a LONG few days...I'm really exhausted, but my babies bring me so much joy that these few "not-so-pleasant" times are MORE than worth it!!!
