Well, I do hope everyone is managing to stay healthy? There has been a nasty flu bug going around. We've been battling it in our house, but thankfully, it didn't hit us too hard. Lilly woke up Friday morning feeling fine. We were picking up the house (we have to do that at least 4 times a day to keep up with it) and I told Lilly to start with her room...she said "mom, my head hurts". I chalked it up to her not wanting to clean her room? Then at lunch time, she started whining and said "I feel Icky", she's never been a great eater and fights us to eat most meals, so I chalked that up to just being that. But when I looked into her eyes I could see that "sick look" (parent's you know what "look" I'm talking about)! An immense sense of guilt came over me...here I've been nagging at her to clean her room and eat her lunch, all at which she probably was telling the truth the whole time? It's hard though, because she's started with telling little "fibs" here and there...so I'm getting to the point that I don't always know what to believe? Anyway, back to the "feeling icky". I checked her temp and it was 99.8, so yes, at least something? I didn't make her eat, she got right in bed and was asleep in about 20 minutes. When she woke up the fever was 102.4, so I gave her some Motrin and watched her all afternoon. She did vomit (sorry to be so detailed), but only once and she ran a fever for the rest of the weekend. Finally, she woke up Monday morning with no fever and said she was all better. Of course, about Saturday mid-morning, I started feeling under the weather. It never got too bad, I felt like I had something between a flu and a cold? Steve started with it Sunday...poor guy! He's such a trooper, he went to work at 3am and worked until 3pm...not the day he was wanting to work a 12 hr. shift I'm sure? But he sucked it up and went, knowing the overtime is great! He's still feeling pretty icky, but we are both on the mend. Luke ran a low grade fever at the beginning of last week, but, I still think that was teething, as he never lost his appetite or acted sick? I do think he was fighting something off though? Remember the
picture of him falling asleep in his room last week? Well, to my amazement he fell asleep in his highchair Sunday after lunch. He also was sleeping in about 2 hours more than usual. Hopefully he fought that off! I really hope this is it for the sickness in our house for a while!
Feeling Icky
Such a good brother, reading books to his sick sissy...
He was so proud, does she look impressed?
Apparently, I couldn't clean lunch up fast enough?
Proof for my hubby...
no, I did not leave him in his high chair...
yes, I did put him in his crib.
