Well, it has happened! I didn't think I could have so much fun...outside, FREEZING! I have to admit, I am not a huge outside lover, when it's cold...but today was fun! We had another successful field trip with Lilly's class. The class went to a "tree farm". It wasn't really a tree farm, but at the house/on the property of a little boy in Lilly's class. They live in a very nice country home with lots of pine trees! The kids thought it was great fun (so did the parents)! Lilly's class made peanut butter/bird seed pine cone bird feeders earlier this week in class. So they hung them on the pine trees. We played a game, ring around the pine tree...it's like ring around the rosey, but around the tree instead! Then the kids got to go on a scavenger hunt to find certain colored ornaments on each tree. Next they got to pick a candy cane off of another tree, lastly it was into their garage to warm up, eat some cookies, drink hot chocolate and listen to a story and some christmas music. The weather report said it was 33 degrees, but with the wind it felt like 23...BRRRR! It indeed was VERY cold, but a nice morning too!
The beautiful bird feeder she made and is so proud of!
The candy canes
Mmmmm...hot chocolate...one of her favorites!
