Tuesday was Lilly's pre-school Christmas party. It was lots of fun. Steve took the day off of work and surprised her! I wish I could've got a picture of her face when both of us walked in (she thought only I was coming). But of course, I didn't capure it in time :( This is the first school event that Steve has been able to attend. We watched them at play time, then we made a craft. She made a wreath out of paper and got to glue all kinds of fun things on it. They got to talk to santa, but Lilly is still not so sure of him, so she hid behind her Daddy's leg! Next, they got to make their snack. They made the cutest reindeer out of bread, peanut butter, raisins, pretzels and cherries. She got some hot chocolate, we sang some songs, then all the kids also got to present a special gift that they made. Lilly handed me a present that was wrapped and stamped with snowflake stamps (that she did all herself), and an ornament that was made with a picture of her in it. Then inside was a calendar with her handprints on it with a poem. As soon as I read the first line that said "sometimes you get discouraged", I knew better than to read the rest (until I got home), because I've heard it before. So, when I got home, I hung it on our fridge and read the poem...of course, just as I thought I would...I became "water works"! I cherish all of these things that I get to attend with her, and I'm so glad that Steve got to experience this with us (and I know he is too)! Now, a busy day of getting everything ready for Lilly's dance recital this weekend...
